WEATHER ALERT: The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Stanislaus and San Joaquin Counties through 7:30 p.m. Between 1 and 2 p.m., the storm dropped nearly a quarter-inch on downtown Modesto, according to the Modesto Irrigation District. Still going strong in many areas.

The Modesto and Turlock irrigation districts are reporting scattered power outages this morning. Causes are varied, but many are weather-related: pole fires, car accidents, the usual for the first storm of the season. We will be updating our weather story throughout the day at modbee.com.

Good morning! According to the Modesto Irrigation District , the storm has dropped .33 of an inch of rain on downtown Modesto. Hopefully more to come. The National Weather Service calls for showers likely all day, with thunderstorms possible after 10 a.m.

We're just received details of a scary crash in Turlock over the weekend involving a suspected drunk driver hitting a car just as a family - including a 11-month-old and a pregnant woman - was getting into it.
