Embroiled in a rent dispute with landlord Los Angeles World Airports, the Proud Bird restaurant at the eastern edge of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) — a Westchester icon since 1967 — is scheduled to sell its last meal on Thursday. Most employees received layoff-warning notices nearly 60 days ago, though some workers will stay on another month or so, until the Proud Bird closes it banquet facility a few days shy of Christmas.
